The Weather in Goa
There are two main seasons in Goa: the so called 'tourist' season and the 'off' season. Both bring their own delights and experiences of Goa and potential visitors should not avoid visiting Goa in the 'off' season as it is simply different to the busy peak periods that usually attract lots of foreign tourists.
The table below gives an idea of the average daily temperatures, rainfall and hours of sun to expect in the different months.

Main Season: October - April
November, December, January and February are the busiest months. During this period the days are hot and sunny and the evenings cool, the beaches are perfect and swimming is safe.
Off-Season: May - September
By May many of the seasonal shops, restaurants and other facilities available in the traditional high season have started closing ready for the monsoon. Open air restaurants in particular are closed. The weather is humid and temperatures can reach a high of 35ºC. The monsoon rains start around early June and the landscape changes rapidly from a dusty brown to a lush green. A trip to Goa during this period is a chance to discover the 'real' Goa. The beaches are cleared of all beach shacks and you can stroll undisturbed along the long sandy stretches.
